SWOT Analysis of Islamiat 11-12

Strengths

The first draft is ready with CG and PG. A complete preview is available. It is expected to have consensus from the representatives of different schools of thought. Messages of tolerance and peace have been included in the Curriculum. Moreover, contemporary issues and their solution through Quran and Sunna has been included.

Weaknesses

The assessment issue of translation of the Holy Quran is still a question mark. Practical aspects of Islam may not be added to ensure the acceptability of all the sects.  Previous topics are to be retained to avoid any misconception. A consensus translation of the Holy Quran is not available in English.

Opportunities

Every sect within Islam may feel its presence in the curriculum. An excellent opportunity to present a true picture of Islam, free from any hate speech and a symbol of tolerance. The curriculum may also be used to tackle the issue of hate speech through misinterpretation of Islam.

Threats

Non-availability of subject-specific teachers within the educational institutions. Without specific teachers’ training, it may not be implemented as envisioned. In the presence of the different assessment frameworks for the translation of the Holy Quran, implementation will be difficult.
